My Skincare Story

I’ve always been interested in skincare and did my best to take care of my skin starting at a young age. Working at Pravada now, my knowledge on products and cosmetics has definitely expanded. When I was younger and a blemish appeared I’d apply such harsh topical treatments that would completely dry out my skin causing congestion and more pimples. Progressively my skin got worse; my entire face was covered in painful spots. Living in Toronto our winters are harsh. During this season I would wake up with not only acne but, rashes and dry eczema patches around my T-Zone and eyes. My scalp would also be painfully dry and itchy sometimes even scabbing from scratching.

Doctors and Dermatologists would often prescribe me psoriasis shampoo, antibiotics, steroid crèmes, and other topical products full of harsh chemicals. These were short term band aids to long term issues. I couldn’t rely on these damaging products to fix my skin concerns. After much research into these products I couldn’t believe the negative effects some of the prescribed treatments caused. The topical crèmes and antibiotics damaged my skin by thinning it and weakened my immune system, making my concerns worse. The prescribed shampoos stripped my hair and I had to wash it more frequently.

After a few years of trial and error and a lot of patience later, I finally found a regime that worked for me. One answer to blemishes was keeping my skin hydrated rather than drying it out. I had been clogging my pores for years with topical drying crèmes. Focusing on hydrated skin of course, helped my eczema patches and facial rashes. I moved to natural hydrating shampoos and it started to restore my scalp. For myself, I’ve noticed better ingredients have proven better (and long lasting) results. Going forward I only use natural, organic, and clean skin care and hair care products. Take a closer look into my regime and see if it will help you decide what would benefit your own private label skincare or private label hair care line!

Here’s My Favorite Pravada Private Label Products!

Cleanser: Green Tea Botanical Cleanser
Skin Types: All Skin Types
When to Apply:
Morning and Night

Where to Apply: Face and Decolletage

Many cleansers have dried out my skin which inevitably clogged my pores, creating more eczema patches and breakouts. This cleanser is so gentle and does the job. It leaves my skin feeling soft and maintains hydration.

Toner/Mists: Rose Hydra Mist
Skin Types: All Skin Types
When to Apply: All Day
Where to Apply: Face and Decolletage

Being in an office the majority of the day, air conditioning and heat is always blasting which dries out your skin. The Rose Mist I actually spritz throughout the day to give my face extra hydration. It’s great after a workout to freshen up!

Serum: Hyaluronic Acid Serum
Skin Types: All Skin Types
When to Apply:
Morning and Night

Where to Apply: Face and Decolletage

Hyaluronic Acid Serum I use day and night to lock in hydration. It holds one thousand times its weight in moisture as well as drawing moisture from the environment.

Facial Oil: Age Defy Complexion Renewal Dry Oil

Moisturizer: 2.5% Retinol Moisturizer

Where to Apply: Face and Decolletage

I often mix my moisturizer with oil both day and night as I have very dry skin. The Complexion Renewal Dry Oil hydrates without clogging pores or leaving my skin looking greasy. Retinol can help with eczema and acne by naturally unclogging pores. It also is proven to help fight signs of aging. Pending on your skin type you may only want to use one at a time or both at night.

Spot Treatment: Anti Blemish Clear Skin Treatment
Skin Type: Sensitive and Blemish Prone Skin
When to Apply:
When Necessary

Where to Apply: Blemishes

If I have a pimple or feel one coming on, I apply a small amount of this treatment post moisturizer. It is light enough that it doesn’t dry out my skin or leave it looking red! It applies clear so I can wear it day or night.

Favorite Body Product: Arnica Wellness Gel
Skin Type: All Skin Types
When to Apply:
When Necessary

Where to Apply: Sore Muscles

I workout regularly and probably don’t spend as much time stretching as I should. When my muscles are sore I apply the Arnica Wellness Gel on the effected area. This provides me with a soothing and cooling relief.

Shampoo and Conditioner: Argan Conditioning Shampoo and Argan Intense Conditioner
Hair Type: Normal to Dry Hair
Use: Gentle Enough For Everyday if Necessary

After using prescribed shampoos full of chemicals my hair lost it’s natural wave. The Argan Shampoo and Conditioner have restored my hair’s natural bounce and my scalp’s natural oil. I’ve noticed I can actually wash my hair less after switching to natural hair products.

Hair Treatment: Intensive Hot Oil Hair Treatment
Hair Type: Normal, Dry to Damaged Hair
Use:
When Necessary

I try to use this once a week. After leaving it in for a few hours Coconut, Jojoba, and Argan oils fortify the dry strands and deliver intense hydration. This not only reversed severe damage from the past but, keeps my hair looking soft and shiny.
